Working with me is a deep exploration, while I incorporate gentleness and compassion to support your therapeutic journey. Together we will uncover the roots/origins of your difficulties and work to release emotional pains and patterns that no longer serve you. Through this process of personal transformation you will become empowered to make positive, healthy and long-lasting life changes. From my own path to wellness, I know that walking this journey alone can feel isolating and scary. Clients often tell me that my grounding and calm presence combined with my insight, enthusiasm and acceptance helps them to connect with me and feel at home.
How I Work
Connecting to the Body - Quieting the Mind - Self Investigating - Creatively Expressing
I will guide you to connect to your body and quiet your mind through meditation/mindfulness and somatic techniques, laying the foundation of your journey back towards your real self and ultimately your heart. We curiously investigate the areas of your life that aren’t working and need greater understanding to create change. Many of my clients benefit from writing and art in sessions to creatively express their inner experience.
My therapy approach is psychodynamic which involves:
- visiting your childhood and past experiences to make connections as to how they are impacting your life today
- bringing unconscious content to your awareness to find patterns in your emotions, thoughts, beliefs and behaviors
I take a holistic approach to healing by integrating health and wellness of your mind, body and spirit. I often dialogue with my clients about their relationship with food, sleep, exercise, personal boundaries, self-care practices and spiritual connection. Because healthy lifestyle choices positively impact our emotional well-being and complement the therapeutic process, I help my clients establish a daily routine that supports balance and overall wellbeing.
